International Puppet Festival 2002

The Family Planning Private Sector (FPPS) programme and The Community Health and Awareness Puppeteers (CHAPS) programme presents…

Kenya's first International Puppet Theatre Festival in Nairobi from 15 to 23 February 2002.

The nine-day festival will showcase international and local puppetry and visual theatre performances, a puppetry-in-education and therapy conference and puppetry workshops throughout Nairobi.

Why a festival in Kenya?

The festival will bring together puppeteers and visual theatre artists from around the world and especially from different regions in Africa, to perform, share their skills and exchange their cultural and traditional forms of theatre.

The festival is being coordinated by Eric Krystall, senior advisor to The Family Planning Private Sector (FPPS) programme and The Community Health and Awareness Puppeteers (CHAPS) programme, an essentially grass roots programme running in East Africa.
